Afloat again

Back in the water at long last. The good news - sorted out lots of small jobs that needed to be done including fitting new fan belt, topping up batteries, fixing sails. Bad news -  didn't get out, I kept flooding the outboard, at the wrong time. It was very windy the whole weekend with very little activity on the water. A good decision, as Mrs B was happy not to go out. The only other picture of the weekend, the tidy chart table.

Left it until the last minute

I should have tackled this job a while ago, I didn't, so I'm now a month behind schedule and late going in the water, but it's been very blowy the last few weekends so I don't feel to bad about it. Anyway the job that needed doing was replacing the original 44 year old forstay chainplate which had rusted away due to a gap on the deck fitting, which has now been welded pic. The original galvanised steel plate, which was hanging on by a finger nail, was glass bonded to the hull. This was replaced with a stainless steel plate, again glass bonded to the hull and joined by a rigging screw to the deck fitting. Thanks to Peter Clarke for doing a great job on this. Peter Clarke's Boatyard  Lets hope it will last another 40 odd years. Thats it, hope to be in the water for the weekend!

Change of course

After spending three weekends, glueing, drilling, screwing (200 of the little blighters),sanding and oiling four mahogany seat panels, I decided to abort the project. Why? I couldn't bring myself to drilling over 50 holes in the cockpit to fix them. So I went for the easy option and glued panels of Treadmaster! Pic
