New home

Ellen Rose has now taken up new residence at Bradwell Creek. The diesel performed well on the move from West Mersea to Bradwell, much to the skippers relief!

She floats

Its been a long time coming. The last three months have been hectic with preparation for getting Ellen Rose into the water. The plan was to launch for May bank holiday but we over shot that by a couple of weeks, due to getting the local yard to do a major service on the Beta diesel, which having not run for a couple of years gave me a few sleepless nights thinking about cracked blocks and what not, but the yard did a great job. Just have to get out, and blow the cobwebs off. The Beta was installed about seven years ago by Stuart and his father in the yard, who inform me she has had very few hours of use.

Presently on a swinging mooring in West Mersea this week to sort a few things out, hoping to take her permanent swinging mooring at Bradwell, whose sailing club we joined earlier this year.

Since the last entry I have fitted a solar panel, to top up the starter battery whilst on the mooring. Colin, a friend, fashioned a new tiller from hardwoods which looks the dogs. Pic
